About History Outlet
History Outlet is a place where public figures (musicians, athletes, artists, and others) hand over historic items they own to be researched, curated, and certified, and where those items pass to fans and collectors through the Market, Auctions, and other exchanges. Part of every transaction goes to charity, as announced on each item page.
By creating an account or using our services, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and to the History Outlet Privacy Policy.
Member accounts
- One person uses one account with accurate, up-to-date details. You are responsible for keeping your password and verification codes secret.
- Some services require a certain account level, such as a verified WhatsApp number or ID card verification, before you can bid in auctions, withdraw Balance, or resell an item.
- We may limit or close accounts used for fraud, ticket scalping, or other breaches of this document, after telling you the reason where possible.
Items, curation, and certificates
- Every item is researched and curated before it is published. Item details (provenance, condition, year) are prepared carefully, but photos and descriptions are a representation; the physical item may show normal signs of age.
- Published items carry a numbered certificate of authenticity. Checking the number or QR code shows the item information; the owner's NFC card, when tapped, opens a fuller ownership archive.
- A certificate may be revoked if a serious error later comes to light. Buyers of an item whose certificate is revoked are entitled to a refund under the guarantee terms in force at that time.
Buying on the Market
- The price, shipping, insurance, and total are shown before you pay. The order is reserved for you until the payment deadline shown.
- After the item arrives there is an inspection period. If the item is damaged or not as described, report it on the order page before the inspection period ends; your money stays in History Outlet's escrow account until a decision is made.
- Refunds are made in full, back to the original payment method, and are approved by two different staff members.
Joining an auction
- An auction may require a deposit or a certain account level. The rules of each auction (bid increments, time extensions, the winner's payment deadline) are shown on its lot page.
- Bids are binding and cannot be withdrawn. A winner who does not pay on time may lose the deposit and the right to join later auctions.
Balance and Coin
- Balance is your own rupiah money held by History Outlet. It can be spent on purchases or withdrawn to a bank account in your name, within the limits of your account level.
- Coin is a reward point, not money. Coin cannot be exchanged for rupiah or withdrawn, and can only be used for redemptions marked as payable with Coin.
Event tickets
An e-ticket is valid for one person, in the holder's name, and is scanned once at entry. Ticket transfers, refunds, and schedule changes follow the rules shown on the event page.
Ownership archive and charity
- Each change of hands is recorded in the item's certificate ownership archive. You can choose how your name appears while you own the item. Sale prices are never announced.
- After an item changes hands, the previous owner's account name may appear in the ownership chain of the NFC card archive, which only opens for the person who taps the card.
- The charity share of each sale goes to the announced categories and projects, with proof of disbursement on the Transparency page.
Prohibited conduct
You may not fake an identity or a certificate, disrupt an auction, buy tickets to resell at unfair prices, use bots or other automated means, or try to break the security of the system.
Limitation of liability
We work to keep the service running well and securely. History Outlet is not liable for losses caused by your failure to protect your account, by disruptions beyond our control, or by use of the service that goes against this document.
